How does the 10% premium work in Arkansas?

Short answer

Take the bond amount, multiply by 0.10, add $60 bondsman fee, add $20 booking fee at posting. Sharp and Izard counties also charge a $50 warrant/affidavit fee at the jail (no other counties do). All amounts round up to the next $5.

Arkansas state law fixes bail bondsmen fees so every licensed bondsman charges the same:

  • Premium: 10% of the bond amount, non-refundable
  • Bondsman fee: $60 flat
  • Booking fee: $20 flat, paid at posting
  • Rounding: all amounts round up to the next $5

Worked example for a $1,000 bond: premium $100, bondsman fee $60, you pay Triple R $160, plus $20 booking fee at posting = $180 total.

Possible additional jail fee: Most Arkansas county jails do not charge a warrant or affidavit fee. Sharp County and Izard County do — each charges a $50 warrant/affidavit fee at the time the bond is posted, on top of the bondsman fees and booking fee.
