What is a bail bondsman?

Short answer

A licensed Arkansas insurance agent who posts your loved one’s bond in exchange for a non-refundable premium of 10%, plus standard fees.

A bail bondsman is a state-licensed insurance professional who guarantees the full bail amount to the court so a defendant can be released from jail before trial. In Arkansas, bail bondsmen are licensed by the Arkansas Insurance Department.

You pay the bondsman a non-refundable premium (set by state law at 10% of the bond amount) plus a $60 bondsman fee and a $20 booking fee paid at posting. In exchange, the bondsman guarantees your loved one’s appearance at all court dates. If they skip court, the bondsman is on the hook for the full bond amount, and may pursue them as a skipper.

Triple R Bail Bonds has been a licensed Arkansas bail bonding company since 2005, serving 27 counties across northeast Arkansas.
